Getting started - hands on 'how to'


The video below is a more 'hands on' explanation about to access your course materials, how to find the right area for the RCP forum (including access for Q & As), your Group 14 discussion area (new forum space!) and many other useful areas.

Important Resources


Listed below are a number of important resources and links for you to have on hand as you make your way through the course.

 

For you to action:

  • Before the live class this week: complete THIS survey to select your first and second preference times for tutorials that start next week.
    • Anyone who doesn't respond to the survey soon after the completion of the first live session late this week, will be placed in a session we estimate will be best for your timezone.
  • Complete the new student survey (if you haven't already)
  • Keep an eye out for an email about signing an NDA (Non Disclaimer Agreement). These will be coming to each individual very soon.

For your reference:

  • Your Kartra learning portal is available here. You use that to access:
  • The RCP website "existing" forum is accessed by logging in here (will only be used for the first few weeks of your course). If you do not have a welcome email explaining what to do re: your password, go to this location, use the 'forgot password' button, and reset your password using the email address used when you registered with us.
  • The included HTMA kits will be sent as e-kits to all new students within the next 1-2 weeks.
    • We will advise everyone once the emails have been sent.
    • It is VERY important to slowly read the emails and pay attention to the specifics within the messages. Depending on your location, there will be specific instructions for you to respond to.
  • Tutor sessions start Monday/Tuesday next week (Week 2) - your tutor will reach out either late this week, over the weekend, or at the latest early Monday to confirm your session.
  • All training resources are available after you finish this course. 
  • All new graduates who meet the requirements of the course completion, will get access to the RCP Full Alumni for 6 months after their group completes the course.
  • Course completion requirements (more details will be provided in coming weeks): 
    • Quizzes start week 2 and will be routinely made available when the live class for that week is uploaded and made available within Kartra.
    • Complete at least 9 of the first 11 quizzes
    • Complete the last quiz (#12)
    • Complete a practical "case study" where a tutor will supervise you either 'live' via zoom or by watching a video. 

What to do if you need help?

  • If you don't have welcome emails for accessing Kartra, there's a fair chance it could be in your SPAM folder, or it may have been filtered by your inbox.
    • Search for emails from: support@therootcauseprotocol.com to see if any are there
    • Check your SPAM folder around the date you signed up
    • Use the links above and utilise the 'forgot password' option to reset your password.
    • If all of these don't get you in, contact support (see below).
    • Add support@therootcauseprotocol.com to your email contacts to increase the chances of you receiving the emails as you should.
  • What do you do if you have a general RCP related question?
    • See if you can find the answer in the learning materials.
    • See if you can find the answer in the general forum area.
    • See if you can find the answer by asking a question in the Group 14 area.
    • If none of these work, check in with your tutor.
  • What to do if you have a training related question?
    • If it's relating to logistics, access to items in Kartra, etc, contacting support is typically best.
      • support@therootcauseprotocol.com  or support@rcp123.org (both go to the same place!)
    • It can be worthwhile checking in the forum first if you aren't sure - someone else may have worked out a solution they could share.
  • What to do if you have a technical question (eg about the website, accessing resources, etc)?
    • Ask our support team for help! They will typically reply quicker than Kristan, and Morley won't have the right tools to help you... so go to the people who have the time and experience!

    • URGENT items can be directed to Kristan via private message on Facebook so she can triage them - this is reserved for things like website being down or MAJOR problems...
